Hunter's Arrival

UPDATE!!!
At yesterday's appointment we had our last sonogram and it showed a very healthy baby boy, once again!  With the measurements they took they're estimating Hunter weighs about 7 lbs. 6 or 7 oz!  I had progressed again since last week and I'm definitely dilated to a full 3 cm!  Early Tuesday morning (unless the Lord allows Hunter to come before then) we will head to the hospital for our induction!  This is the last weekend to not be official parents...wonder what we'll do...REST as much as possible!!!  We'll let you know when our little miracle arrives!

Well, Jeff and I are fast approaching the arrival of our sweet baby boy!  If Hunter does not come on his own this week, we are going to be induced on Tuesday morning...just one week from TODAY!  We are very excited and full of anticipation!  It's hard to believe that the day is almost here and our lives will never be the same again!  Stay tuned for any updates!

Old Friends...

It is always so nice to get caught up with friends that I haven't seen or talked to in a while.  Well I recently got to do just that.  My friend Kelli and I met for lunch and got to catch up on everything that's been going on with us.  One CRAZY thing is that we are both pregnant and due within days of each other!!!  It was so cool to find out that our babies will be born so close to each other.  Of course we had to get a few pictures before leaving!!!

It was so fun getting to see each other after such a long time.  Next time we get together we'll have to have our husbands and our little ones join us!

36 weeks...Can you believe it?

This week's appointment went very well! We had another sonogram and Hunter looks fantastic. With all the measurements they took they are estimating that he weighs about 6 lbs. 7 oz.!!! I was very excited to hear he is such a healthy boy! I also found out that I am already 2 cm dilated!!! I didn't know what to expect so I was a little surprised when the dr. told me. He is starting to drop which is exactly what should be happening. Everything is looking great as we head toward welcoming our little blessing!!! Now for what you're probably wanting more than just me talking...sonogram pictures! We didn't get any 3-D ones because he's too squished in there now for anything to really turn out, BUT we did get some cute ones! Here you go!!

Hunter has found his thumb! You can see his left hand coming up from the bottom and stuck in his mouth. His little nose is right above his hand.
The cutest little toes ever!!! There are 5...the pinkie toe is just squished up against the others. Can't wait to see these little feet that I've been feeling for so long!!!
We'll keep you updated on what's happening over the next few days or weeks!!!

34 weeks already!

Can you believe we are already 34 weeks along?!?!? It's hard for me to believe that it's almost time for Hunter to join us! I just can't wait to hold him and kiss his sweet face! During the sonogram this week the sonographer showed me how squished our little man is! With the regular view you can see how close his little nose to the side!

And with the 3-D or 4-D (whatever you call it) you can really see his nose squished flat on the tip! Poor guy! You can also see that his little cheeks are really getting chubby!

We are so blessed to have such a healthy little man! We pray that this blessing continues after he's born!

Fall Friendship Dinner at Prestonwood

It's been a few weeks, BUT the Women's ministry at church had a great dinner and speaker for the women at the church. I was so excited because my awesome sister was able to come to the dinner with me! I loved getting to visit with her and enjoy a great evening together! We get to see each other pretty often, but it was extra fun doing something like this that we haven't gotten to do before!
All the girls at our table. Props to our host, Becky, who decorated our table! It was beautiful and totally got me in the mood for Fall! I love this time of year!

Baby Shower on August 22nd!

A few of my sweet girl friends had another shower for us on August 22nd. Jeff and I met the girls and their husbands when we were first married. We are so blessed to have friends like them!!!

Kelley made a banner of Hunter's name and also decorated the mantle with fun sports items!
Once again, all the yummy food the girls prepared to fit with my "diet". The Oreo balls were awesome! ALSO, you can see the diaper cake decorated with FLORIDA GATOR items for Hunter. Jeff thought this was awesome!!! It will be fun to dress Hunter in his Gator Gear and watch them play with Dad!!!
This is a blanket Rita gave us that says "I am wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14 This will definitely be the blanket we use in Hunter's carrier when we leave the hospital with him for the 1st time! I just love it!
My friend Julie and I showing off the baby bellies. (I am 31 weeks here...and yes...the belly has grown since then too!) She and her husband were married right after Jeff and I were and they are pregnant with their first child, Lily Faith, and due a few weeks after us! How fun is that! We were so surprised when we found out we were due so close together!
Sarah, me, Lindsay and Kelley! Lindsay is pregnant with their 2nd child, Conner William, and due a few weeks after us as well! Gotta LOVE baby boys!!!
Thank you girls for such a great afternoon to celebrate our son who will be here soon! Each of you are a true blessing in my life!

Baby Shower on August 8th!

So it's taken me a bit to get pictures up, but I'm glad to get to post them now. My sister Rita and long-time friend Erin gave us a shower at my sister's house. Here are the pictures!

This is a diaper wreath Rita made. We decided not to take it apart yet and bring it to the hospital to hang on the door after Hunter comes! Isn't it too cute!

Rita also made a banner with Hunter's name.

All the yummy food Rita and Erin had for the shower. They were so sweet and made sure I had plenty of choices to choose from to fit my "diet"!
This WAS the baby belly at 29 weeks...it's definitely grown since then! :)
My mom-in-law Wilma (G Mama), Me and my mom Debbie (Grandma) at the shower!
Erin, me and Rita!
At the end of the shower my step-dad Paul, Jeff and my dad-in-law Jeff came to the house to see all the wonderful gifts that people gave us. It was SO awesome to have both sets of grandparents there to celebrate Hunter! We didn't know if Jeff's parents and brother Tony and sister-in-law Robyn would be able to make it in town, but they did! It was such a great day!!!

My grandparents came to the shower along with my Aunt Connie, cousin Heather and her daughter Zoe. Here is my Papa and Nana, Rita with Bryce, me with Laney, and Heather with Zoe. We worked hard to get a picture with everyone looking in the same direction!
And you can see that everyone was DONE!!!
It was a fantastic day celebrating Hunter with family and friends. Our son is so blessed to have so many people that love him already!!!

28 weeks and counting...

Yesterday we went for my 28 week appointment. At 20 weeks a test came back with an elevated protein level so our Dr. said that beginning at 28 weeks I will be in the office once a week and he'll be monitoring him closely. Also, I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which means that Hunter could end up being larger than average and the Dr. will monitor that closely as well. So, yesterday we got to have another sonogram of Hunter! We didn't get a full set of measurements so I don't have an updated weight this week, but everything looked great! He's right on schedule and all of the vital things they look at were perfect! Here's the latest picture of our sweet boy!
Look at that little hand...I can't wait to hold it! His eye is a little distorted because of the position he was in and the nature of the sonogram itself, but you can see he's going to be such a cutie!!!

Anniversary Trip/"Stay-cation" before Hunter arrives!

Last weekend Jeff and I headed to Fort Worth for an overnight stay to celebrate our 3rd anniversary! This will also be the last vacation we take with just the two of us for quite a while. After lunch on Friday we headed to the Omni Max theater at the Museum of Science and History (I think!). We saw Dolphins and it was good...not something that we would usually do. Then we headed to our hotel...Embassy Suites! It was such a nice room. We hung out and rested until we went to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House!!! It was so yummy!!! Our waiter bought us a cheesecake for dessert to celebrate the coming of our first child...Hunter! :) After dinner we headed to an improv comedy show called Four Day Weekend. We had been once before on my birthday and really enjoyed the second time around. We ended the evening in typical Jackson style...Barnes & Noble coupled with Starbuck's!!! I was enjoying myself so much I forgot to ask someone along the way to take our picture together! I did get a few shots of our room and a collage of things we did over the weekend! Hope you enjoy!
I can't get this one to flip! Sorry!

Update on Hunter's Room

Last week we received Hunter's new furniture!!! This is what his room looked like on Saturday morning.
Jeff and I assembled the furniture and got it set up in his room! Ok...so Jeff did most of the work and I just helped a little bit! Here's what it looks like so far.

Here's the pile of things that still need to find a home in Hunter's room. Here's Piper laying down in Hunter's room. She's going to be such a great "big sister"!

Hunter's Room

We have been asked to put up pictures of Hunter's bedding and furniture for his room. I had planned on posting as we were working on his room, but this is a good idea so here is a picture of the bedding!
I can't get the pictures to save correctly of the furniture, so here is a link to the website. Just imagine it with his bedding and not the girl bedding that's in the picture!
Hope you enjoy checking it out. I'll be sure to post pictures of his actual room as we get it ready as well.

Also, I'm working on getting our printer/scanner to work correctly with our new computer so as soon as I get it working I'll put new sonogram pictures up and a picture of my growing belly!

Introducing...

So Jeff and I had our 20 week appointment last Tuesday and everything was great!! We had another amazing experience seeing our little one! Everything was measuring normal and developing right on track! We praise the Lord for continuing to grow our sweet baby! Look at what a cute profile!

We weren't expecting to have any 3-D images of our baby, but look at what an amazing picture we got!! Isn't that the most precious little face you've ever seen? Ok...so MAYBE I'm a little bias! :) I'm sure by now you're wondering if we found out if our little one is a boy or a girl...well...keep reading!

We were watching the screen and seeing our baby's brain, heart, arms, legs, etc...when all of a sudden the sonographer said, "It's a boy!!" We were so excited and caught off guard a little bit! We weren't expecting to hear it right then...we were just so glad everything looked good!

Now I'm sure you're wondering what his name is going to be. For those of you who don't know yet, our little boy's name is
Hunter Luke Jackson!
It's so fun to be able to pray for Hunter by name and talk to him knowing who he is! We continue to thank the Lord for a healthy pregnancy and baby so far and pray for the remainder to be the same!

He Knows My Name

On the way to church on Sunday, Jeff and I were talking about names for Baby J and how excited were are to find out on Tuesday if we are having a boy or girl! Well, at the end of the service we sang a song during the invitation for people to respond to the Gospel with a line that says...He knows my name...It's a very good song, but I hadn't thought about this related to Baby J! The Lord already knows Baby J's name!!! Even though Jeff and I do not, Jesus does...and has since before time began! Jesus was thinking about Baby J when He died on the cross...He died to save Baby J!!! I was so overwhelmed with this thought and how AWESOME my Lord really is!!! The infinitely God of the universe loves and cares for Baby J more than I can fathom or even begin to understand!!! What an amazing God we serve!!!

The Latest on Baby J

I went for a check up on Friday and everything was great! Hearing the heartbeat has to be the most amazing sound in the world!!! We are going on June 2nd to find out if we are having a boy or a girl! We can't wait to find out what we're having...although Jeff is completely convinced that Baby J is a boy! Guess we'll find out soon enough!!! Unfortunately we don't have any new pictures this time.
I'm also starting to show a bit and beginning to wear some maternity clothes. We'll try to get a picture soon of the baby belly! :)
